Professors use their power over grading to protect themselves from any criticism from students of their opinions. A university campus may be the least free intellectual space in our society.
This is truly sad. I remember back to my very outspoken time as a student... I can't imagine going through my formative years afraid of simply opining on topics. Western society really has rotten.
