Within a month, I predict all DEI infrastructures will be in ruins. All of them. Everywhere. The institutionalized mass delusion, along with academics who have been using it as a cudgel to bludgeon their ideological enemies (those who promote free speech, meritocracy, and liberty), will be disgraced. Why? In the wake of the Claudine Gay scandal, vast numbers of DEI bureaucrats are about to be exposed as plagiarists.
Here are my further predictions:
1) Instead of being grateful for rooting out academic corruption and thanking the involved parties for revealing fraudulent scholarship, universities will delete or alter the definition of plagiarism from their ethics manuals. (Hopefully, someone will have collected these from every university and archived them.)
2) Leftist identitarians will make the following claims:
Revealing DEI plagiarists is a “rightwing conspiracy” that targets scholars of color. Plagiarism, they will argue, is rampant in academia so why target DEI administrators who are overwhelmingly non-white? They will scream racism.
Before 2025, many if not most dissertations from every field will be run through plagiarism checkers.
I predict that the more ideological the field the greater the degree of plagiarism (and the less rigorous the dissertations). Consequently, dissertations rooted in Critical Social Justice will have the highest incidents of plagiarism with those in STEM the lowest.
Plagiarism itself is a white concept and holding scholars of color to this standard is an imposition of whiteness and an attempt to colonize Black and Brown people with white ideals.
3) There will be secretive deliberations among university presidents and academic administrators. Whistleblowers will subsequently reveal these conversations. The involved parties will have discussed how to scrub or hide all dissertations and use the existing legal infrastructure to prevent access dissertations. This idea will gain almost no traction after legal counsel tells them it is not feasible.
Those are my predictions. And yes, within one month, by February 2, 2024 DEI will be in ruins.
Let me clarify the bet I'm offering. Boston College, which my middle son attends, has more DEI administrators than history professors. If BC lays off A SINGLE DEI admin, you win the bet.
So when I see you in London on 1/25, you will get the best dinner you have ever had at the Savoy.
If you lose, you will have to read the first 20 pages of "White Fragility" on youtube.
What do you say?
Well, I hope you're right on DEI collapsing, but I fear they'll just further entrench and double down.
You're not dealing with logical and accountable people by any means.
