In March 2024, I traveled to Taiwan and had the opportunity to speak with students at the University of Taiwan. We discussed their views on free speech, concerns about a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan and the possibility of U.S. intervention, and the prospect of another Trump presidency (this was filmed before the US Presidential Election).

Absolutely not as is the same for any/all nations. No matter what is being done, this is the threshold we must never cross period. Yes the US did it in WW2 when it was just speculative and guesses as to the true destructive nature of this power. Once a nation, ANY nation, pushes that button, all the rest will have the precedent they need to justify the same and that is something we must never entertain. That doesn't mean that Taiwan should simply succumb to China's aggression but that it can never be that; nuclear war.
Nuclear must always remain a deterrent only. It;s not as if there are no other viable options. Nuclear war is the one price we must never pay.
