I suggest reading "The Dying Citizen" by Victor Davis Hanson. He explores the consequences of multiculturalism from many different angles.

Seriously?

Ask Yugoslavia

Ask the Hutu & Tutsi

Ask Shia Vs Sunni

Ask the Catholic v Protestant Irish

Ask the Sioux & the Crow, or the Apache & Anasazi

Ask an AWFL who considers herself “multicultural” about an Iranian woman beaten to death for showing her hair, perhaps the epitome of “multiculturalism.”

Multiculti & diversity are, every time they have shown up in history, led to the fall of that nation or civilization.

Only assimilation works when people from other culture get together, the entire purpose of which is to successfully meld those cultures into one.

Multi-culturalism seems likely to inevitably yield conflict. Even if there are only 2 groups within a nation and they start off at exactly a 50/50 split, they're unlikely to maintain equal population growth given enough time, resulting in an eventual imbalance that at least some members of the weakend group seem likely to be displeased with. Perhaps America is enduring something akin to such a dichotomous divide that reorganizes the different ethnic groups under the overarching banner of Left vs Right or sometimes people of color vs white people.

Peter, I heard you recently say that in addition to being against the woke stuff, you're also against the anti-woke stuff. That's where I find myself as well. What I oppose are unempirical or supernatural arguments when it comes to the rules that govern how we are all to live with one another in the natural world, because their only chance of leading to a better future is via sheer dumb luck, a proverbial shunning of the opportunity to purchase stock in favor of lottery tickets.

What a great concept: Two adults having a dialogue, even disagreeing, and genuinely desiring to learn from one another.
