I checked Hillel's website and they don't have a "contact us" link which is a shame. And what a sneaky and cowardly maneuver on the part of Brown. These college administrators act like they are living in a totalitarian society in which free speech could result in death--and in a sense, I suppose they are if you consider the ways that the new jack-booted liberal watchdogs destroy people professionally and personally if such people don't acquiesce to their ideological edicts.

Glen Loury at Brown might have helped. He's a staunch advocate of what you're trying to do.

Unbelievable and upsetting. Shame on Hillel and on Brown. Sadly the Hillels have not been the place of tolerance and diversity that they once were. In the future, you can try the Christian groups on campus or the (orthodox Jewish) Chabad on Campus.

Contact info for Brown’s Hillel, for anyone who wants: info@brownrisdhillel.org

I did not click Like because this is too sad. Fortunately we now are protected from disinformation by DHS

Weird how many scheduling conflicts happen for these kinds of events

I was a graduate student at Brown in 1990s. The worst student from our class is now a professor there.

Wow. That is confusing and disheartening. I would think the scientific departments would have more objectivity/discernment when it comes to hiring. What gives? (Why do you think the mediocre person was hired?)

You probably heard of Grievance studies hoax and thought that this is specific to social studies? Not so. Check out Bogdanoff affair. And there are many many more.

What else to expect? Those people are little weasels who won’t even admit to the real reasons. And many others internally are probably silenced through fear and intimidation - just like mostly anywhere else at this point. Maybe the Ministry of Truth or Funny Walks chimed in also.

I’m really sorry to hear that a Hillel did this to you. I’m super sympathetic to the abuse many Jewish students experience on U campuses these days, so I guess expect better from them. They should know what cancel culture feels like because it’s often done to Jews under the ruse of antiZionism. I’m disappointed that this Hillel caved.

Is it possible to hold the session via Zoom ?

Glenn Loury perhaps would have been able to help secure a venue.
