Peter is great at these interviews. He conducts them in good faith, which is why the participants are so honest. The interviewee is wearing a "Jeff Hanneman" T-shirt. He was the lead guitarist and founder of the thrash metal band Slayer. Thrash metal bands are so establishment nowadays! Because . . . it's always the government's responsibility. If you want to be anti-establishment, what does one wear? A Glenn Miller Orchestra T-shirt?
This is funny. I was listening to Kill em All earlier and was thinking dang if only Metallica would thrash the way they did on Hit the Lights and Metal Miliitia and even Four Horseman on Ride the Lightning or even Don't tread on me these days earlier. I'd buy a Glen Miller t-shirt. Benny Goodman, why not!? 😁
abundance, efficiency, industrialization, and technological advancement ... I suppose you could say so. The human hardware can’t keep pace with human software. Our physical structures are aligned to contend with a world in which we have to work for calories and we’ve managed to construct a world in which we have to work to avoid getting too many.
More tail-wagging-the-dog scholarship. We find what we want to assert as the learned truth ... then hunt down or manufacture any and all evidence we can find to prove our a priori conclusion correct
This is the first thing Peter's made that I've watched and I did double takes several times as she expressed her perspective. How do you get through to someone like this? I don't know if that's the essence of what Peter is trying to do but ... wow.
"Government is responsible for my addiction" is an idea that seems incompatible with AA, which she mentioned several times and may be something she used to aid in her own recovery. I know people who used AA and the most remarkable way it changed them is that they went from blaming everyone else for everything wrong in their lives to taking responsibility for it.
She's comparing practical capitalism to idealized, theoretical socialism. The reason capitalism is superior to socialism isn't necessarily because it's a better idea. It's because it's an idea that remains practical when moved into the realm of flesh and blood human beings. Socialism doesn't, won't, and can't.
I’d love to hear her definitions of capitalism and communism. I couldn’t even get definitions from a political philosopher professor. Without that it’s hard to know what she’s talking about.
This gives the radical left’s approach to making American cities the epicenter for homelessness, open air drug use, and human trafficking. As of to say, “See what your Capitalism hath wrought?! Only “true Communism” can fix this.”
Too bad communist countries have always been rife with alcoholism (a form of addiction)...and now that drug distribution networks are FAR “better” than they used to be, they can add drugs to their drinking! As long as the state owns the means of production: Progress! <sarcasm>
I think it's a play to devalue real estate and have block grabs then gentrification like NYC did in the late 70s I could be wrong plus there's the chemical warfare aspect of fentaynl and the tranc zombies too.
Can I just say she needs to take a hard look at the vodka industry in czarist Russia and how then the USSR picked up the "profits" of plus profiting from having a society/workforce addicted to alcohol. Mao and the Opium Wars not ending connection. The commies in big tech pushing the electric herion as being fine when they don't want their own kids using it down to the creation of Waldorf schools like a cartel boss would who didn't want their kids on the smack. Just saying:).

Thank you. I appreciate that.

The claim that there’s no true communism is true perhaps, but it’s not for lack of trying.
Is being overweight caused by capitalism?
Yes. I met a Venezuelan family and their only complaint about America was the weight gain. Lol

Is this the sort let into university these days??? "They" deserve the full security of a serf in a feudal system.
