That’s right. The woke have been guilt-tripped into rejecting the emancipatory power of human thought that is our birthright. The woke movement is the deliberate rejection of human reason. It makes people stupid, so we can be corrupted. It erases our self-awareness of how we glean truth, so we can be indoctrinated.
I couldn’t tell if Mark was playing devil’s advocate in order to get Peter to articulate his POV, or if Mark has absorbed so much woke ideology (e.g., speech is violence) that he had no other way to approach the topic. Mark sounded a bit like a well-oiled woke robot. But that’s not a bad thing, because he probably spoke for a lot of people, and then Peter was able to explain that we can liberate ourselves by returning to the innate powers of reason and discernment of truth that we were born with. We just have to uncouple our logical processes from the guilt trips and spurious identitarian dogma of woke ideology.
I understand why the woke are terrified of free speech. It requires them to be their own arbiters of reality. The more I think about woke ideology, the more I realize how evil it is.

Peter is a professor of epistemology. His job is teaching people how to think. He is even-handed, because he's an expert in how to communicate in order to engage with those with whom we disagree. It's really hard to do without losing your cool, and he's a master at it.

No citations from dead/living white males (or women now). Myopic. Effecting an erasure of and scapegoating of white people. Really it’s the genetic fallacy (my professor wrote the cfp). And my RCWS discipline (rhetoric, composition, writing studies) or English Studies broadly writ takes the cake imo for fomenting these untested ideas (in first year comp courses) that later generations now believe as givens and truths. As these ideas took hold across multiple English journals in the 80s and 90s, the postmodern ideology prevailed cuz they thrusted shame and guilt onto any scholars daring to question let alone oppose activist scholarship, pedagogy, and virtue.
WTF! Is this Amazon suppressing sales or some crazy idea of the editor/authors to collect $$$ instead of getting their ideas circulated? I know we're doomed, but do we have to pull stupid shit like this all way down...?
The publisher probably believes this is likely to sell only to libraries and academic institutions, which are not very price-sensitive (ie. they usually just pay whatever high price).
It is hard to believe or even imagine that a person or group could exist wanting to push an ideology, and a new science, and has the means to influence every Ed school in the country and has a problem with unsterilized children. If such a group existed, they certainly wouldn't have the hubris to document their intentions and post them on the internet beforehand.
