Just finished this when the email pinged me there was a new post.

My personal opinion is that women should get first priority in Muslim immigration because their lives are often in danger and freedoms curtailed over there, whereas the men enjoy their dominance over women.

There are some great comments here. Perhaps we can do an SSE on this!

Thank you for that wonderful supportive vote for the weaker sex! Before you jump to conclusions, you might want to consider: https://www.cfr.org/report/women-and-terrorism

So are you asking for privilege for Muslim women because they are women? That doesn’t sound very humanistic to me. What about LGBTQ people who live in danger in Muslim society? I would say their risk is much greater. Should they be put at the top of the list for immigration? How about we just stop it with creating levels of privilege?

Why don't you compare the numbers of killings happening to "lgbtq" and the depraved subjugation that women experience?

People who are either L, G, or B can manage their risks simply by choosing which behaviors to display publicly.

T people are actually elevated above G men, as some countries will "transition" a gay man or sentence him to death. These are also minute populations compared to, oh HALF THE GAWDDAMN WORLD THAT IS FEMALE.

You're just another fake "progressive" using other causes to cloak his misogyny.

My point is that you can’t judge a person by their biological plumbing just as much as you cannot judge them by their color, but somehow that triggered you. Was it the weaker sex comment that got to you? I believe a lot of women appreciate being able to play their ace-in-the-hole which is the weaker sex card. Poor me should embarrass women. Why wear that badge? Earn your self respect by being morally, physically, and mentally strong.

You're an idiot and a misogynist.

young girls get their genitals mutilated against their will and all women can't leave the house without a man, read, or drive in many areas, they should get top priority

So ‘female victimhood’ is the criteria that should be used in determining who should be allowed to immigrate? What about immigration policy based on allowing in people who have skills, talents, or abilities that can benefit society? Do you really want a country where victimhood garners privileges? Women would be considering FSM as beneficial. In some 3rd world countries parents choose to mutilate/deform their children so they can beg for money on the streets. Victimhood has no place in a free society. https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/people/feminism-has-become-obsessed-with-victimhood-1.3418483

Don't see the episode of your interview with Lionel Shriver (https://www.youtube.com/live/5KaqRGOjcVk?si=kYc0FaH8Y3VRVoey) here on the page; if I were a teacher I'd make all my students listen to it and (test them). "Common sense is uncommon," it's downright rare and seems to be dying out. This conversation is ... I'll be thinking about it for days. It's so wonderful to know that there are people like Lionel in the world.

Not all cultures are civilized. Not all cultures believe that human life is of inestimable value. We can’t civilize others who have benefited from acting uncivilized. Look at the recidivism rates of criminals. Just like the old saying, you can take the person out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the person. They have to want to change their belief system.

"but you can’t take the ghetto out of the person"

I would like to point something out. I am The Token White guy in my neighborhood. The Vast majority actually want More cops coming around. When Defund The Police started ( I closely quote the guy across the hall "Are These expletive expletive people out of their expletive expletive Minds!"

When I see someone say something like "but you can’t take the ghetto out of the person" I have to ask Just how many people living in the ghetto do you know?

You missed the point Steve. People have to want to change. Reread what I wrote. Changing your belief system takes courage. I think you were triggered by the word ‘ghetto.’ My point is that ghetto is in a person’s mind and has nothing to do with where you live.

"I think you were triggered by the word ‘ghetto.’ My point is that ghetto is in a person’s mind and has nothing to do with where you live. "

Triggered is not the word I would use, maybe Assuming would be better. Thing is So often I see people using Ghetto, and assuming The Worst of people living here. ie That everyone is a crook a drug addict, lazy, etc etc.

So I made an assumption. There is an old saying about Assuming "You make an Ass out of You and Me."

"My point is that ghetto is in a person’s mind and has nothing to do with where you live."

Very True!
