Yay Jodi. She’s a brave trailblazer and an inspiration.

This is all so true. There comes that moment when you look into a real friend's face, when the connections of walking on eggshells with those who speak scripted jargon has exhausted you. The fog lifts. Your mind clears. Logic returns. You no longer have to say "she" for your ex-husband.

I've thought a lot about these segments with Jodi. I expected more about the situation she found herself in, what people were saying, what she did and didn't say, what happened then, etc.

But it has dawned on me that she told us the exact right thing we needed: if we find ourselves in a long-term situation that feels really crazy, we need, first and foremost, to find a true friend. That is the truth, and exactly what a genuine person would say to us. It's not primarily about fighting woke or whatever is the craziness. It's about taking care of ourselves first. Then, maybe, more. Jodi is, I agree, an inspiration.

I wish her the best in her lawsuit. I hope her life returns to "normal," as she put it, as soon as possible, and I also hope she writes a book someday.
