Definitely agree with you that people have completely underestimated the effect that AI is going to have on our economy. In my field? 16 out of the top 20 job postings have the words "AI Trainer" in the job title. That's obviously not a long term prospect for the economy. Not to mention, I got into the field because I was previously in retail and customer service which got wiped out by Amazon and online shopping as well as the focus on digital innovation after the 2008 financial crisis.
But what I constantly hear from people is "The solution is for you to think harder and be more entrepreneurial". I've actually engaged in conversations where people have declared "Only stupid people get replaced by AI".
Nevertheless, I kept thinking of what I read in Friedrich Hayek's book "The Fatal Conceit", and Paul Johnson's book, "Intellectuals" while listening to Mr. Pilkington.
Very thought provoking discussion. Always learn new things from P.B.
I appreciate that. Thanks. I have another conversation with Philip tomorrow.
Thank you for another informative conversation Peter. I look forward to the next one.

Yup.
An intriguing discussion.
