The funny take away; is we spawn from something similar to a psychotic break. How it happened will shock you; where it is mentioned might shock you. If you can comprehend it; will shock me.
Great interview. I’m sure you know of Abagail Schrier’s new book, Bad Therapy. Would love to hear you chat with her, and also Jonathan Haadt, author of Anxious Generation.
I so enjoyed this convo Peter. I studied therapeutic counselling for 3 years in the UK before returning to Canada in 2007. I began looking for a college or university to complete my cerification but, they wouldn't give me any transfer credits and insisted l'd have to start from scratch (aged 49). Or l could have taken Social Work for two years!
What great friends you have, Peter! I thought Hartz's ideas about ambivalence were so interesting - I had lunch with a friend today, and I brought up the subject of ambivalence. She, a veteran of much therapy, had not heard of that idea, and thought it was sound.

Thanks. We can reach out to them. Thanks.

Now, these disciplines have universally been corrupted.
