Jodi I so admire you for standing up and speaking truth. People today like to say "your truth" or "my truth." Sorry, but there's a broad category of reality where truth can neither be constructed or deconstructed, it's just truth. I'm only one persons but there are millions of us out here who are behind you 1000%.
Peter, I want to also want you to know how I appreciate what you are doing as well. I have been watching and listening to you from the beginning. I am an Evangelical Christian pastor, and I know that is perhaps, an odd fan demographic, but what we obviously have in common is a relentless search for truth. The Christian twin value of truth is love. This means I have no problem loving when there is honest disagreement about what truth is. Thanks for trying to make the world as it should be, a domain of truth and love.
I am so grateful for your comments to Peter and the reflection of Christ and His teachings that your comments reflect. ๐๐ป
"...what we obviously have in common is a relentless search for truth. The Christian twin value of truth is love. This means I have no problem loving when there is honest disagreement about what truth is."
When I speak or share with others, I continue to share that my personal understanding of God is reflected by the answer that Jesus gave to the Pharisees when asked, "What is the most important commandment?" Jesus answered, "To love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. And the second one is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself."
I have been taught, throughout my life, that my job is to "love others", reflecting the love that God has for all of His Creation. Coming to understand God and His Word in a very intimate and personal way is MUCH DIFFERENT than just knowing ABOUT God. To KNOW God takes time, investigation and conversation. Like a dear friend, that relationship is built over a lifetime.
I do the loving, God does the touching and the receivers do the accepting. It is not me but rather God, through me, who draws others to Himself for the good of ALL the WORLD.
I love ALL, but to my Christian Brothers and Sisters who believe themselves to be "Soldiers of Christ", I ask them to remember the GREATEST Commandment and the REFLECTION of His love that Christ has directed us to give. Soldiers go to war to fight for their cause. The WAY they fight, with intelligence, wisdom, humility, patience and love is as much, or even more IMPORTANT, to the fight.
What is wrong with objective truth? I do not subscribe to multiple truths; neither do I subscribe to social justice, economic justice, environmental justice, etc. I subscribe to justice. Equity is clearly manipulation of outcomes so that they are equal. Equality is of opportunity, while equity is a manipulation of the process and evaluation to produce a pre-determined outcome based on irrelevant factors.
It's a relief to hear Jodi say that it took her two confusing years to understand what was going on,. I try to understand social justice, but it seems there are some big pieces missing. Who could be against social justice? What do these people really believe? I say it is relief for me, but it must have been a Kafka-like hell for Jodi. I am grateful for her strength and look forward to her story.
A study came out recently showing Smith College to have 40% lgbtq++ identifying coeds on campus. For white females with wealthy, tuition-paying parents, the need to identify out of the perceived "oppressive majority" appears as social contagion. Very few of those who identified in the alphabet community claimed to simply be lesbian. That's apparently too vanilla as well.
Coming from the generation of women who read, Our Bodies and Ourselves to learn how to appreciate our unique sensual bodies, that we didn't need douche and all this other nonsense, it's impossible for me to connect with their mind/body disconnect. For when they decide to reconnect, I offer a self-help guide to finding your center and innate strength thru mind/body acceptance:
My mom also had Our Bodies Ourselves on our bookshelf growing up. She also had Womens Bodies Womens Wisdom. This helped me learn to love my body. I also canโt understand this complete opposite perspective todays women and girls have, my two daughters included. My mother is turning in her graveโฆ
You were one of the very first voices I heard (as I was seeing you on YouTube) of someone who had faced the Practitioners of "Cancel Culture", within the work place, who had the Courage and Bravery to stand against something that your spirit just couldn't get comfortable with.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been someone who has looked to "role models" to help me navigate my way through a world that presents so many "Choices".
"The difficulty in life is the "choice". ~ George Augustus Moore
My sweet, little Italian Mama and my Dad were my first teachers and "role models" (imperfect as all humans are) aided by my Catholic faith and the teachings of Christ as well as all the admirable people I have met along the way. Truth be told, those who prove to be not so admirable offers lessons equally important.
I was forewarned/taught, as a teen, that life is not always fair and that CHARACTER and INTEGRITY cannot be "bought" but must be "built" day by day, month by month and year by year by making wise choices, some VERY difficult.
Along the path to becoming the person for whom I could be proud, I fell along the path (as all humans will), getting up, dusting myself off and trying again. My journey continues, but my decision making has matured and improved as I continue to grow in my years.
I'm thankful for the guidance I received as I grew and it has helped to make me the person I am today.
At (almost) 65 years of age, I continue to meet "Role Models" in the younger generations who have been faced with the challenges of a world I would never have imagined that I would live to see. It is the people of Courage, Bravery and Character that I have seen step up, at great personal risk, to stand for Objective Truth and to whom I am so deeply grateful.
While I have much less life ahead of me than behind me, I have children, grandchildren and people I love who will be left to carry on long after I am gone. It is for the love of these people that I am so thankful for people, such as yourself, Jodi, who will be remembered as the Brave of your and their generation who stood for the Civil Rights of ALL people.
With the uniting of all people of good will, who see the value in EACH individual human life, despite our foibles and failures as human beings, my faith in America and mankind has been restored! Thank you, Peter, people like you and "BRAVER ANGELS" who have stepped up to fight for right.
When my time on this earth ends, I now can go with Peace in my heart knowing that there are those who will be working, alongside my loved ones, to help depolarize the country we have all called home for generations.
How dare they tell me that I have to carry the sins of anyone else. Including my ancestors, who by the way fleed from oppression themselves to live a free life in America after WWII.
Keep on telling the truth. I am very proud of you for not going along with the insanity.
Haven't heard much from Jodi on the podcast or social media circuit lately. Hope everything is going well for her. What she went through was something else.

- Itโs almost cliche to say that when injustice arrives, people do not act to intervene until it affects them personally.
- And then they came for me

She is remarkable! It's tough to put all the pieces together.
Brava!
