As someone who has had 2 relatives killed in the line of duty and a few others get shot at (over a 70 yr period) I appreciate others posting articles like this. Thank you.

Thank you, Matt for your clear, direct and factual writing. Everyone can confirm that what Matt says is true by going to the Washington Post's database of police killings. I confirmed this myself when the defund the police movement initially began. Matt is also correct that the best way to decrease violence in cities, including in low income neighborhoods, is to increase funding and support for the police. This has been proven in New York City and many other cities around the country. Heather Mac Donald has documented the effectiveness of these proactive policing programs in her book "War on Cops."

The number of black people “murdered” (as per the survey question) is not even 12. It is at most two, for 2019, being the number killed where the officer’s conduct was improper or criminal. As Matt says, most or all of the twelve are justifiable killings.

Not even close. Does the name Elijah McClain even mean anything to you? What callous, self-serving denial you live in.

As well, the false "data" on the number of "trans" individuals is falsely inflated and society imagines thousands more are killed than the real data reveals. The murderer on March 27 in Nashville will be added to their count as a "dead trans man." This is what they do. We who divorced narcissistic, verbally and sometimes physically abuse cross-dressing men know the fear that strikes us when he threatens suicide, which my ex-husband did repeatedly. I feared he'd take me and our sons, or someone else along with him. And then, he never acted on it. He went down the affirmation path, diagnosis in the initial appointment on July 20, 1993.

Does the book elaborate on the closer look mentioned in the following segment?

“A closer look shows clearly that the constant attacks on law enforcement, budget cuts, and a climate of hatred fueled by that same irresponsible media have effectively halted proactive policing. Whenever that happens, violence skyrockets and thousands more needlessly die.”

That figures. Elijah McClain was a 23-yr old violinist arrested and killed for suspiciously "dancing around" while walking home listening to his headphones. He used to play music to the animals at the local shelter because he believed it calmed their anxiety. All four police officers were eventually indicted for his murder. After they killed him, they were caught posting pictures of themselves laughing and reenacting the chokehold at his murder scene. Oh, and he had a father...

I hesitate to use adjectives such as 'churchgoing' or 'traditional' but this is usually also true of the responsible people in high crime neighborhoods who are entrusted by social workers, Guardians ad Litem, and judges to provide a safe home environment to the children of those perpetrating the crime in these neighborhoods. Those who provide free care to those children do so without gratitude from anyone. It's the members of these communities who end up in jail, dead, or in prison whose voices are elevated by defense attorneys and whose criminal activity provides opportunity to 'party' free of judgement or stigma, to the trust fund kids and liberal intellectuals, entertainment industry people, in general, and even professionals who never think or feel concerned about the children living where they buy their, 'so-called' products and services. The same people who think it's ok for a pretend trans woman working at a YMCA to take little female swim students to the restroom are the same people who are deaf and blind to the lives and interests of the responsible people keeping things operational and caring for children in high crime neighborhoods.
