The government's police have no constitutional or legal obligation to protect and defend civilians. The US Supreme Court has decided that in several relevant cases that one can look up and read for free on the internet. The job of the police is to show up at the scene of a crime, gather evidence and witness reports, pursue the criminals, arrest them, and bring them to court. They are responsible for serving and protecting government, its property, and government employees. That's what the infinitive phrase "To Serve and Protect" on their cruisers actually means. "To Serve and Protect"...whom? It does NOT mean "To Serve and Protect Civilians and their Property". That's what government operators want civilians to think that it means, which is the reason that that phrase omits its object!

Last I heard, the police are hired to maintain order, see that the laws are enforced, and apprehend law breakers. Murdering black people isn’t part of their job.

Seems like a really good idea to keep guns somewhere and let the security people go get them and come back… what is a security guard now? Like the people that bring puppies around to make you feel better?
