Common sense does not appear to be part of any of their equations.

The situation in Los Angeles has calmed down after protesters clashed with police over the weekend. Yes, I think we can have a sane conversation. The problem, however, is that people do not want to have that conversation.

Until The likes of Karen Bass, AOC, to name but 2 that come to mind, Go Away, don't think conversations are possible.

(An actual Thought just occurred) Do Large numbers of people (both sides) Really want to have a Civil Conversation (1 v1, 2 v 2). I keep seeing//hearing we do. What I don't see is someone Actually Doing It. The Munk Debates n Canada, but that's about it.

(Putting on My Evil Neo-Nazi Trumpest :-) Hat) One thing have noticed is in a discussion on anything like a level playing field Those on The Left rarely come off looking good.

I agree that borders should be enforced and countries should decide who enters their territories. However, I believe that many people protesting deportations are using what they think is common sense too. For them, it is common sense, for example, that we are all humans who didn’t choose where to be born and how every country has good and bad people in it. They are thinking about fairness in an idealistic way. They are thinking about the bad Americans and good foreigners they know. From my point of view, protestors have a confused view of reality and have not considered the implications of an ‘open borders’ change in the law. They haven’t thought about any of the practicalities. My point is that they are not simply crazy or lacking in common sense; they are just not thinking this through. I think showing them why they are wrong, even if it seems condescending, is important if we want to change their minds. The analogy stating that you don’t just let anyone into your house works, but probably with clear examples showing why. Because they are only thinking about ideals of compassion and generosity and loving your neighbor…

Islam stands for everything we in the West have fought against yet we allow Muslims in who despise our laws, values and culture.

It's time we called on government to put together a task force to look into Islam's ideology so we can put measures in place to protect our way of life - our democracy and culture.

Perhaps we should get a petition going.
